Tropical Storm Irene: A Threat To Oil Production In The Gulf of Mexico?

According to weather.com, Tropical Storm Irene is sweeping through the Caribbean, making it the ninth named storm of the nacient 2011 Atlantic hurricane season.   According to projections of Irene's path, the system is not expected to create any Oil production or delivery facilities within the Guld of Mexico.

Tropical Storm Irene is forecast to strengthen briefly into a hurricane before moving over part of Hispanola Monday into early Tuesday. Irene may again restrengthen into a hurricane once emerging off northern Cuba Wednesday, tracking toward Florida and the Southeast U.S. Thursday into the weekend.
