As Fashion Week moves onto its next stop, London, a treat at the Topshop Unique Autumn Winter Show will be waiting thanks to Google+; it's been pinned the future of the fashion show.
Live streaming from runway shows invited us to virtually attend; along with editors, audience and media members, everyone interested witnessed what it was like to be there. Last season’s Topshop show alone saw over two million viewer hits on its live stream in over one hundred countries according to Mashable – a social media news website.
Now thanks to this partnership between Topshop and Google+, everyone will be free to experience what it’s like to walk the runway. Here Google Cam will become model’s eyes, offering up the 360 degrees for anyone online at this now public event.
This Sunday during Topshop’s runway show, models Cara Delevingne, Jourdan Dunn, Rosie Tapner and Ashleigh Good will wear this small HD Camera and reveal the view as they strut the awed-upon catwalk. The “Be the Model” publicity stint is the first of its kind, leading the revolutionary path down the now exposed runway and “Future of the Fashion Show.”
In addition, Topshop has designed a live YouTube channel which, in cooperation with Google+’s “Hangout” technology, will host backstage access and capture red carpet arrivals to the Sunday show. This social network affiliation will also play host to a digital diary, expanding the understanding and relationship between the model, the design team, the fan, and fashion week.
