Adventure is the name of the game when it comes to Matthew McConaughey and his dive into the fashion world.
This philosophy is woven into the garment’s design, the marketing, the branding – even the charity it benefits.
Calling the label JKL, standing for Just Keep Livin which is not only the name of his foundation but also production company - J.K. Livin Productions – it represents McConaughey’s desired mindset, day in and day out.
A cool slogan at its least, branding this line with such a phrase will not only encourage people to do so but will also benefit those his foundation helps conquer the quest of. For every dollar made on the JKL line a dime will go to the foundation, helping kids establish active lifestyles and healthy habits.
When brewing this new endeavor McConaughey has stated that the clothing is for the day’s adventures, and could conceptually accompany you wherever your day takes you. “One of the first things I had written down was ‘from the jungle to the opera.’ That’s a bit of an exaggeration, but that’s the idea,” says McConaughey.
Working with Toronto-based Grand National Apparel Inc. and Platform Media on logo and image, the line has come together and this stylishly sporty extension of McConaughey and his vision will be launched exclusively at Dillard’s next month; for Fall this collection will open up to new prospective retailers.
Fusing celebrity status with sporty performance features such as moisture-wicking and quick-drying, adding stylish notes and a great slogan to stand behind the brand, top that with a benefiting foundation and this guy gear business could very well be looking at A-list success.
