TIMOTHY KELLY, FOUNDER,
CHAIRMAN & CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
Timothy Kelly has had a distinguished career in media and financial services.
Beginning as an advertising salesman for (then CapCities/ABC) WABC Radio in New
York, Mr. Kelly worked with several radio companies in New York, including Bloomberg
Radio.
Early on at Bloomberg, he co-founded the personal finance magazine, Bloomberg
Personal Magazine. In just six months, under Kelly's direction, the magazine
was launched with one of the largest initial circulations ever at 7 million
copies per issue.
After 5 years at Bloomberg Financial Markets, Mr. Kelly was recruited by investment
bankers Welch, Carson, Anderson & Stowe to head media marketing at Bloomberg
rival, Bridge Information Systems (now part of Reuters). During his tenure at
Bridge, Kelly led the effort to become the leading provider of financial news
and data to the global business media. Within sixteen months, the company had
achieved that distinction, and Kelly had become the Sr. VP of Global Marketing
for the $1.5 billion company. Mr. Kelly's credits at Bridge also include Co-Producing
the Nightly Business Report on behalf of the company, and founding Webfn, a
made-for-the-web financial broadcast.
After leaving Bridge in 1999, Mr. Kelly was the Founder and CEO of OANDA Corporation,
one of the leading FX web sites in the world. Mr. Kelly is also a registered
and licensed professional with the National Futures Association (NFA).
Mr. Kelly studied English Literature and Economics at Boston College, and Studied
Fine Arts at the University of Sienna in Florence, Italy. |
